I can't recommend Mathilde highly enough! After a few years of living in France and undertaking several French courses, I've finally found a great teacher that is amazingly well organised, motivating and accommodating. Thanks to her teaching methods the grammar finally makes sense to me and I have an ability to communicate in French and even make a French phone call! I highly recommend Mathilde as your French teacher. She is definitely one of the best teachers that I have had the opportunity to learn from. She adapted the training course as per my level and my requirements. She is very well organized and provides enough course materials to work on. The feedback on spoken and written exercises were really helpful for me. Since she is very well versed with english, and therefore she is able to correct mistakes that english speakers usually make while learning french. Also, the teaching involved a good balance of grammar and discussion around general topics, french culture, day to day life, etc. She is very motivating and I must say that learning from her was a wonderful experience for me 🙂

Mathilde is a thorough professional in organising/adapting the traning program based on the candidate's present level. I myself enrolled with her for a training program to take my present french language level to next. Mathilde rightly evaluated my level and improvement points, and accordingly adapted the pace and traning program. Even adapted to my requriements of appearning in TCF exam. It was quite effective and efficient. Materials were shared in time and exercises were corrected promptly with good amount of feedbacks. They were very essential in the learning. In the end, I achieved my desired results and was very happy about it. At HAPPY IN FRANCE®, we offer customized French and English language courses designed specifically for international athletes joining French clubs, and for French staff and players working in multicultural environments.

Our approach combines linguistic progress with team cohesion and cultural understanding. Whether the goal is to improve communication on and off the field, strengthen collaboration, or prepare for an international career, our training programs adapt to your reality.

We work closely with clubs to design tailor-made programs that match the team’s needs, schedule, and goals. Lessons can take place directly at the club, in our classrooms in Colomiers (Toulouse), or online, offering maximum flexibility for athletes with demanding routines.

Learning objectives

Our language programs aim to help each participant:

  • Communicate confidently in professional, social, and media contexts.

  • Develop oral fluency and listening comprehension in real-life situations.

  • Understand French cultural codes and the specific vocabulary of sports environments.

  • Build autonomy in daily life (housing, healthcare, administration).

  • Strengthen intercultural awareness and team communication.

  • Prepare for career transitions or reconversion projects when needed.

Each lesson includes authentic materials, role plays, and interactive activities to ensure immediate, practical results.

Training formats and duration

Short on time? Whether you’re a rugby player, basketball player, or an athlete from another discipline, we have the experience to tailor our educational programs to your schedule, with the goal of helping you progress optimally.

We offer several flexible formats:

  • Individual coaching for fully personalized learning.

  • Small group sessions (3–6 people) for team-based learning and social interaction.

  • In-company or on-site courses at the club, academy, or training center.

  • Online sessions via Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet for remote participants.

Duration: Courses usually last between 20 and 40 hours.
We recommend a minimum of 20 hours (the minimum required for CPF-funded courses) for noticeable progress.

Prerequisites and access

There are no prerequisites to join our language programs.
Before starting, each participant completes a language placement test and/or interview to define their level, objectives, and learning preferences.

Based on this diagnostic, we design a customized program that may include:

  • General French (everyday communication)

  • Spoken French (conversation, interviews, meetings)

  • Administrative or practical vocabulary (housing, health, banking)

  • Professional or sports-specific French

  • English for coaches and staff interacting with international athletes

  • Fun and modern English courses for French athletes competing on the international circuit or looking to improve their language skills

Note: If French is the target language, training may be delivered in English, Spanish, or Portuguese to support comprehension for beginners.

HAPPY IN FRANCE offers English lessons for athletes

Evaluation and certification

Each participant receives continuous feedback throughout the training through oral practice, comprehension exercises, and personalized coaching.

All our language programs can include the CLOE French certification (RS6438) or CLOE English certification (RS6435), officially registered in the French National Directory (France Compétences) as of November 15, 2023.

This recognized certification issued by the CCI (Chamber of Commerce and Industry) validates both oral and written proficiency (A1–C2).

Certification & quality commitment

HAPPY IN FRANCE is Qualiopi-certified for both Training and Skills Assessment activities, audited and validated by APAVE in 2023.

This certification guarantees that our training meets national quality standards and ensures eligibility for public funding (AFDAS, CPF, OPCO).

According to the Decree of May 31, 2023, all certified training organizations must display their Qualiopi certificate online.
